Okan Bal and Ömer Selçuk Baz from Yalın Architectural Design have been nominated for Global Award for Sustainable Architecture this year.
The Global Award for Sustainable Architecture was created in 2006 by architect and scholar Jana Revedin and has been under the patronage of Unesco since 2010.The award is being granted each year to five architects who share the principles of sustainable development and a participatory architectural approach to the needs of societies. This year Yalın Architectural Design co-founders Okan Bal and Ömer Selçuk Baz have been worthy of receiving the award amongst five architects.
The jury of the awards is composed of Jana Revedin (Venice), Marie-Hélène Contal (Paris), Deniz İncedayı (İstanbul), Spela Hudnik (Ljubljana) and Jacopo Galli (Venice). Names of the remaining four award winners are: Martin Rauch (Schlins, Vorarlberg), Anupama Kundoo (Auroville, Berlin), Dorte Mandrup (Copenhague), Gilles Clément (Crozant).
The projects of winners will be exhibited at the Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Architecture from 14 October 2022 to 30 January 2023.
