ADDO TOUCH IN IF DESIGN AWARDED DESIGNIST’S “LAMARTINE HOTEL” PROJECT

The furniture design of the Lamartine Hotel Taksim Project, which was awarded at the “iF Design Awards, 2022” bears the ADDO signature.

Designist, led by the Interior Designer Aslı Arıkan Dayıoğlu, which carries out interior design projects on an international scale has won the award in the “Hotels, Spas, Restaurants, Bars” category at the “iF Design Awards, 2022” with the Lamartine Hotel project. Designist received the award at the gala night held at Friedrichstadt-Palast in Berlin on May 16. The selection of ADDO designed furniture in this proud project has been yet another successful partnership between the two brands. Lamartine Hotel in Taksim Talimhane was renovated with the expansion of an additional building. This building, named after the poet Alphonse de Lamartine, who gave his name to the street and lived in Istanbul in the 1800s, belonged to Deniz Kızı Eftalya, one of the once famous songstresses of Istanbul.

The architect of the buildings is Arif Hikmet Koyunoğlu, who is recognized for the Ethnography Museum and Türk Ocakları buildings in Ankara. He was also a master in painting, sculpture, and plaster decorations. This historical-cultural context and the story of the two artists greatly inspired Designist's interior design project.

Designist abstracted the wave movements of musical tones and reflected them on the hotel's interior design. While the strong effect of waveforms is felt on the lobby ceiling, special-cut natural stones are used on the floor. All the walls are formed with cornerless round forms. Neutral color tones are used in Lamartine Hotel, where organic shapes are generally dominant. Light color tones, open cabinets, and bathroom systems were used for a more spacious feel in the hotel rooms. There are female silhouettes that revive the memory of Eftalya, the Mermaid, and plaques and photographs of Eftalya on the walls. Lamartine Hotel aims to create a calm and peaceful city hotel.
