Çubuklu Silos, which were used as fuel depots in Beykoz Çubuklu for many years and abandoned to their fate after losing their functions, were reintroduced to Istanbul with a successful transformation story by IMM (Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality) Heritage and IMM Culture.
Çubuklu Silos, one of the most significant structures in the city's industrial heritage, has finally opened its doors after an incredible journey from oil tankers to a vibrant culture, art, and life center. The silos were inaugurated by Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu on Sunday evening, March 10.
Çubuklu Silos, which was restored with the comprehensive restoration of IMM Heritage, has been transformed into a huge cultural and artistic space that will set an example worldwide. The complex includes the Digital Arts Museum, Nature and Science Museum, as well as a library, workshop, sky meadow, welcome center, stage, café, restaurant, children and art center.
The Digital Arts Museum in the historical area opens its doors to culture, art, and science with its multi-purpose units and rich event calendar. The first exhibition of the museum is titled "Reconstructing Consciousness: What is Reality?" In the exhibit, nine different art practices, both international and local, bring a visible approach to the invisible.
