Designed by Kengo Kuma and Associates (KKAA) and a recipient of numerous international architectural awards, the Odunpazarı Modern Museum (OMM) marks its fifth anniversary with the “Ehlikeyif” exhibition, a creative exploration of the concept of objects.
The “Ehlikeyif” exhibition, delving into the nature of objects, opened its doors to visitors on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at OMM – Odunpazarı Modern Museum. Curated by İdil Tabanca, the exhibition hosts international artists and designers who transcend traditional boundaries in painting, sculpture, installation, and furniture design.
In a world where modern life has become excessively simplified and monotonous, the exhibition reintroduces the liberating and unique forms of nature into our daily lives. The featured artists capture the creative and playful manifestations of our tendency to personify objects, infusing them with natural elements and human qualities that breathe life beyond their functional purpose.
The selection includes notable figures like Ahmet Doğu İpek, Andrea Branzi, Marc Quinn, and Gaetano Pesce, showcasing materials such as raw wood, stone, and soil.
Although the Bauhaus tradition still influences modern furniture design, the “Ehlikeyif” exhibition challenges the familiar forms that we now take for granted. The exhibition will remain open to visitors until July 20, 2025, at OMM.
