SUUDİ ARABİSTAN’IN NEOM MEGA ŞEHİR PROJESİNİN PARÇASI YÜZEN ADA OXAGON

Floating Island Oxagon, Part of Saudi Arabia's NEOM Mega City Project

Saudi Arabia has shared the designs of Oxagon’s port and logistics center, which will be the "world’s largest floating structure" once completed.

A part of the Oxagon project will be on land, while a large portion will have a distinctive octagonal shape extending into the Red Sea. The developers of Neom state that the city’s marine section will be the “world’s largest floating structure.” Oxagon will be built as a port city on the Red Sea to take advantage of shipping traffic passing through the Suez Canal.

The city will be part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 plan, aimed at diversifying the economy and minimizing dependence on oil.

Oxagon is expected to redefine the world’s approach to industrial development in the future by creating jobs and growth for Neom while protecting the environment. The project is anticipated to become a new focal point for global trade flows and contribute to Saudi Arabia’s regional trade.

Alongside Oxagon, the Neom project includes the luxury island Sindalah designed by Luca Dini Design and Architecture; the ski resort Trojena designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, UNStudio, Aedas, LAVA, and Bureau Proberts; and The Line, a 170-kilometer-long city designed by Morphosis.
