Paris Design Week 2025 “Regeneration”
Paris Design Week 2025 takes place from September 4–13 in various districts of Paris, and this year's theme is “Regeneration,” meaning “renewal, rebirth.” The event is held concurrently with the Maison & Objet fair and transforms the city into an open-air design festival with exhibitions, installations, and meetings from different fields of design, art, and architecture at approximately 375 venues.
Particularly, the Le Marais, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Opéra, and Bastille areas are among the focal points of the event. Over 130 young designers and new studios showcase their works on the Paris Design Week Factory platform. Additionally, the China Creative Pavilion, prepared by designers from China with the theme “Wei (Oui),” stands out among the exhibitions in Le Marais. Notable projects this year include the “Plastic Glamping” tent made from recycled beach nets, the multi-sensory installation “Folie” themed around mental health at Hôtel de Sully, and the “Design Disco Club” that combines dance, design, and music at Lafayette Anticipations.
Throughout the event, international presentations such as Hermès’ “En Contrepoint” collection, Studioparisien’s first furniture series, the gallery opening of Crosby Studios, and the modular Borealis collection by Snøhetta & Citterio are being showcased. Exhibitions take place not only indoors but also on the streets, in shop windows, and in historical buildings. This way, the city offers a completely different experience to both locals and visitors.
Visitors can participate in panels, workshops, performances, and brand launches in addition to the exhibitions. Sub-events like the Young Creation Prize, AD Trail, and POUSH program, which support young creatives, also provide clues about the future of design. Additionally, many venues are made accessible to the public through an "open house" initiative.
Paris Design Week 2025 emphasizes that design is not only an aesthetic expression but also a means of ecological, social, and cultural transformation. Visitors become part of this transformation everywhere, from the streets to galleries, while the city of Paris once again proves to be a center of creativity and renewal.
