ODUNPAZARI MODERN MUSEUM CELEBRATES ITS 5TH ANNIVERSARY WITH THE "EHLİKEYİF" EXHIBITION

The Odunpazarı Modern Museum (OMM), designed by Kengo Kuma and Associates (KKAA) and a recipient of numerous international awards in architecture, is celebrating its fifth anniversary with the exhibition "Ehlikeyif," which takes a creative look at the concept of objects.

The exhibition "Ehlikeyif", which explores the nature of objects, opened its doors for visits on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at OMM – Odunpazarı Modern Museum. Curated by İdil Tabanca, the exhibition features international artists and designers who have succeeded in transcending tradition in the fields of painting, sculpture, installation, and furniture design.

In a world that has become overly simplified and monotonous in modern life, the works in the "Ehlikeyif" exhibition seek the free and original forms of nature, making space for nature in our daily lives.

The artists in the exhibition capture the creative and playful reflections of our tendency to personify objects through their works. By incorporating elements from nature and human qualities into their creations, they give these lifeless objects a spirit beyond their functions.

This selection features important names such as Ahmet Doğu İpek, Andrea Branzi, Marc Quinn, and Gaetano Pesce, with materials like raw wood, stone, and earth drawing attention.

Although the influence of the Bauhaus tradition on modern furniture still persists today, the Ehlikeyif exhibition challenges the forms that have become familiar to us. The exhibition can be visited at OMM until July 20, 2025.
