MELEK ZEYNEP BULUT'S "DUO" INSTALLATION WAS EXHIBITED AT THE LONDON DESIGN FESTIVAL.

Designer Melek Zeynep Bulut's latest work Duo was presented to art enthusiasts during the London Design Festival from September 16 to 24, 2024.

Designer Melek Zeynep Bulut offers a cross-sensory experience inspired by her ability of synesthesia in her designs. The "Duo" installation, exhibited at the Old Royal Naval College as part of the London Design Festival, brings a modern interpretation within a historical context and provides an extraordinary experience for viewers as an impressive structure where architecture meets art.

The artwork, in the form of a rectangular prism, has a structure that questions dualities such as inside and outside, night and day, center and periphery. The piece dynamically responds to visitors' physical reactions with sensors, magnets, and acoustic reflectors, inviting the audience not only to observe but also to become an active part of the experience.

This installation was showcased within the expansive atmosphere of the Painted Hall, which bears traces of Baroque architecture, and presented an experience that broadened visitors' perceptions. Duo continues the mission of transforming abstract concepts into physical artworks, as seen in Bulut's previous works.
