LONDON DESIGN WEEK 2022
The London Design Festival took place in full scale for the first time in three years and celebrated its 20th anniversary. The country, shaken by the news of Queen Elizabeth II’s death, launched the London Design Festival during a period of mourning.
The London Design Festival (LDF), held in full scale for the first time since the pandemic and celebrating its 20th year, could not reach the grandeur it desired due to the Queen’s death. The festival took place from September 17 to 25 and offered extraordinary experiences to design enthusiasts despite everything.
Filled with themes such as sustainability, new materials, economic crises, and digital futures, the festival was not only a professional gathering but also an opportunity to share the positivity needed in recent days with design lovers. Designs, installations, and conferences that offered a chance to reflect on hope for the future stood out as the festival’s highlights and inspired participants.
We should note the statement of London Mayor Sadiq Khan here: “The London Design Festival is an excellent event that brings together designers from around the world and strengthens the capital’s position as a powerhouse for creative industries. London is known for its creativity; it continues to attract the best companies and talents from all over the world. I am delighted to support the London Design Festival, which shows that London is open to great ideas, innovations, and people from all backgrounds.”
