FOSTER + PARTNERS DESIGNS THE TRANSPORT CONCEPT OF THE FUTURE IN DUBAI.
British architecture studio Foster + Partners is working on an exciting project in Dubai. The air taxi terminal, designed for the city's visionary transportation concept, stands out with its modern and sustainable architectural solutions.
Having a fast and efficient transportation system is one of the top priorities for modern cities. Dubai is among the cities aiming to lead future transportation technologies, and Foster & Partners is designing a groundbreaking project for this dynamic city. The design concept is part of a proposed project developed for electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) infrastructure networks that will enable passengers to quickly reach key locations in Dubai.
Proposed to be located next to Dubai International Airport, this system will integrate with existing transportation systems at the airport as well as nearby transit hubs like Dubai’s metro network. The air taxi terminal, also known as the "Vertiport" concept, will offer a fast, efficient, and environmentally friendly alternative for urban transportation. The design combines sustainability with modern architectural understanding, contributing to Dubai's vision for the future of transportation.
Foster & Partners' pioneering design team is planning the air taxi terminal in an innovative and functional way. The high-tech and aesthetically harmonious design will serve as a terminal integrated into the city center. The terminal building surrounding the Vertiport airspace features a glass facade offering panoramic views of the city and airport. The terminal is conceived as part of vertical urbanization and is planned to make an aesthetic statement among the skyscrapers.
