ÇUBUKLU SİLOLAR, KENT YAŞAMINA GERİ KAZANDIRILDI.

STRIPED SILOS RETURNED TO URBAN LIFE.

The Çubuklu Silos, located in the Beykoz Çubuklu area, which were used as fuel depots for many years and were abandoned after losing their functions, have been successfully transformed and brought back to life in Istanbul by İBB Miras and İBB Kültür.

As one of the important structures of the city's industrial heritage, the Çubuklu Silos opened their doors at the end of a journey from oil tankers to a center of culture, art, and life. The opening of the silos was held by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu on the evening of March 10, Sunday.

With the comprehensive restoration by İBB Miras, the Çubuklu Silos have been transformed into a massive cultural and artistic space that will serve as an example worldwide. The complex includes areas such as the Digital Arts Museum, Nature and Science Museum, as well as a library, workshop, sky meadow, welcome center, stage, café, restaurant, and children's and art center.

The Digital Arts Museum in the historical area opens its doors to culture, art, and science with its multifunctional units and rich event calendar. The museum's first exhibition, created with the contributions of İBB Miras and İBB Kültür, presents a selection curated by Ars Electronica under the title "Reconstructing Consciousness: What is Real?" bringing together art lovers. The exhibition features nine different artistic practices, both international and local, offering a visible approach to the invisible.
