The construction of various projects that have been waited by the citizens for a long while in Istanbul is continuing rapidly. On top of these projects are the Istanbul City Museum designed by architect Alper Derinboğaz (SALON Alper Derinboğaz), the new building of İstanbul Modern within the scope of the Galataport project, and the Parcel Post Office, which is one of the most exciting building of the project.
Istanbul City Museum, planned by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, will tell citizens and guests about the 8,000-year story of the city from different perspectives. The museum is designed as a center of attraction reflecting the past, the present and the future of the city. The architect of the museum is Alper Derinboğaz whereas the curatorial design is led by Luca Molinari Studio, landscape design is created by founder of Praxis Landscape Enise Derinboğaz and façade engineering is made by Newtecnic from London.
One of the most waited and discussed projects of the city is Galataport which includes many buildings with different functions and spreading over a very large area. Among the most striking buildings of Galaport are the transformation of the historical Parcel Post Office into a cultural center, the new building of Istanbul Modern designed by architect Renzo Piano and the Istanbul Museum of Painting and Sculpture with a new design by Emre Arolat.
